Alone In the Desert
You left me here, alone in the desert with not a drop of water to quench my aching thirst. You left me here bare footed in the hands of vultures and the burning hot sand scalding my feet. Living With a Peanut Allergy Sufferer.
When my son was diagnosed at an early age with a nut allergy, I did not understand the implications, until one day, soon after the diagnosis, I was standing in the newsagents at the counter buying a paper. A news headline stood out at me like a sharp dagger in the heart. It read "28 people die of peanut allergy this year." What the hell...! What do they mean DIE of the peanut allergy? Love is letting go when you know it's going to hurt, but holding on silently by the inner strength that love provides. Being stretched by internal contradition and termoil but still being able to see the way forward through faith.
