Reflecting on Depression

Cold, Grey World,
Not even the colours of the rainbow can invite my attention,
Days, hours, minutes merging into one,
slithering from one moment to the next
holding on to nothing in this confused, tortured mind.
Hopeless, tired, the question running through me,
How can I release this pain, locked inside my brain,
that now controls the body, causing the muscles to ache
and my heart to break.
Some day... sometime...it will all be OK.
It is very worrying the number of people that are suffering from depression. Where is the real support that they need in order to recover from this torturous and often silent state? Depression
leads people two ways and we need to ensure that it leads the right way. But there has to be constant nurturing back to a healthy, happy state where the sufferer can feel strong enough to deal with everyday life. In this fast and pressured society, where priorities are changing and life styles are forcing families to become increasingly nuclear, sustained support seems hard to find.
